Collaborator Info

Holding a Master’s of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Bachelor’s from Westmont College, award-winning author Margot Starbuck worked alongside Rashad Jennings on the New York Times Bestseller The If in Life. Margot is the author of seven books, and collaborator on over a dozen others. Passionate about effective communication, Margot delights in helping clients craft compelling books and proposals. When Margot partners with clients, she guides them in creating the strongest project possible through her intuitive writing instincts, ability to organize material, theological sensitivity, and swift delivery of manuscript, when necessary.

One client raves, “I don’t know how in the world you nailed who I was just by our conversation, but this is spot on! And you made me cry over my own life. I love it. Yes, this is how I want to tell it.” Another client gushes, “I feel you captured my voice and held my heart all throughout the stories. You are amazing. I am honored that you have shared your gift of writing with me and I am so grateful for how you have helped me express the many treasures God has entrusted to me.”

As a writing expert, Margot has challenged writers to “show” and not “tell” while leading workshops at the Calvin Festival of Faith and Writing, Writing for Your Life conferences, reNEW writing retreat, Duke Divinity School courses, and through Project Turn, teaching in local prisons.

Margot’s first book, The Girl in the Orange Dress, was awarded the 2011 Golden Scroll Award for Nonfiction Book of the Year by the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association. Margot’s writing has also been honored with: a Selah Award, AWSA Gold and Silver Merit Awards, a National Indie Excellence Award Finalist, and recognition from the Evangelical Publisher’s Association.
